Education Sector
JKC works with the education sector implementing video conferencing solutions to add value and enrich the process of learning.
Schools are becoming a large user of video conferencing, with support from the government. Many different applications are being implemented as an increasing range of uses are identified. Examples are; schools with special status are using the technology to communicate with other schools around the globe, to enhance the student's learning experience.
Other schools use video conferencing to overcome teacher shortages, allowing a teacher to deliver a lesson to more than one classroom, from their own classroom. Video conferencing is an effective means of secondary schools providing support to feeder schools on subject areas such as languages.
JKC has supplied in excess of 150 schools with video conferencing systems in the last 2 years. We are keen to maintain our close links with the education sector, including universities, colleges and schools. An example of this is our association with Global Leap, and their videoconferencing in the classroom project, which has received funding from the Department of Education and Skills (Dfes), working in association with ICTiS, BECTa, the British Council, the Special Schools Trust and other educators around the world.
Through the relationship JKC holds with Devon Curriculum Services, the education sector and the video conferencing manufacturer Polycom, JKC is able to provide special pricing and support for schools.
JKC recommend the LifeSize Express as a suitable unit for IP based video conferencing within the education sector.
