South Tyneside Council Video Kiosk Installation

A recent initiative at South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council has seen the deployment of AuPix’s AP-500 video kiosk as part of its ‘one-stop shop’ approach to deliver services in the community through the use of technology.

JKC have been working with the Council for 2 years to develop a suitable video kiosk to meet the demands of the environment. Working with manufacturer Aupix the AP-500 video kiosk was developed to meet these demands.

The AP-500 has been installed at a customer service centre to enable members of the public to discuss, face to face via video, a variety of issues with specialist teams, such as planning and building control, which are physically located in different sites across the borough.

The unit has been designed with the emphasis being on enabling people, from a location convenient to them, to have a high quality video call with the relevant council department through the single push of a button.
